( Some spoilers below)

In my opinion:
Definitely recommended. I really liked the way the two main characters are telling the story from their point of view. It is a story that grabs you from the first chapter that like Kate, we were intrigued by this new kid that comes in the middle class of Sciences and on which we learned later, down a curse for hundreds of years ago. It is noteworthy that for me, the novel comes a point where you get tired a bit of skepticism Jarrod, but then, this is offset by the dramatic shift that gives the story led to the medieval period. But I will tell you more about it by those who have not read this great book. As for the characters, their personalities to me are well defined, with few inconsistencies, with which anyone can identify. The ending is quite "predictable" but even that leaves us wanting more. ; D
